Tesla has officially kicked off deliveries of its refreshed Model Y “Launch Edition” in the U.S., with some of the first customers receiving their vehicles over the weekend.

One of those customers, X user Jim Koehler, shared a glimpse of his delivery experience in Knoxville, Tennessee, on Sunday. The photos he posted show his Stealth Grey Launch Series unit, highlighting the fresh look of the new Model Y. Further insights were shared on the Tesla Motors Club forum, where Koehler provided a deeper dive into his experience, offering a closer look at both his initial impressions and the standout features of the newly launched vehicle.

Koehler revealed that he placed his order for the refreshed Model Y back on January 23. By mid-February, Tesla estimated delivery would take place sometime between February 19 and March 19. That window was later refined, and by Saturday, his updated delivery estimate landed between March 1 and March 8. True to the revised schedule, he officially took delivery of the new Model Y—nicknamed “Juniper”—on that very Saturday.

In one of the shared photos, the freshly delivered Model Y sits beside his 2024 Model 3 Performance, giving a striking side-by-side view of Tesla’s evolving design language and product evolution.

This past weekend, a refreshed Tesla Model Y was spotted in the parking lot at Palisades, nestled in the snowy backdrop of Tahoe, California. The sighting, shared in a Reddit thread, quickly caught the attention of the Tesla community. While it’s not yet confirmed whether the vehicle is a customer-owned unit or belongs to a Tesla employee, its crisp white exterior and presence in a public setting have stirred fresh speculation and buzz around the ongoing rollout of the updated Juniper design.

Tesla’s first U.S. deliveries of the refreshed Model Y come on the heels of a key transition in China, where the company recently moved from selling the limited “Launch Edition” to the regular production version. Deliveries in China began just last week. While the Launch Edition featured bonus warranty mileage as a perk, the standard version arrived at the exact same price, signaling a seamless shift into full-scale distribution as the redesigned Model Y gains momentum across markets.
